March 2005
NEXT
MONTHLY MEETING
The next meeting of the Lakeside Civic Association is scheduled for Monday
Night, March 7th at 7:30 P.M. at Panera Bread located in the Bardmoor
Plaza. All residents are encouraged to attend. WHERE’S MY MONTHLY
NEWSLETTER?
We’ll that’s a good question. Monarch publishing has been doing our newsletter
for over 15 years. It cost your association nothing and was fully supported by
advertising. However, since the last hurricane, it has been more and more
difficult to get the newsletter with timeliness and regularity. Your
Association is continuing to keep you updated through delivery of this format.
You may also go online to
www.lakesidehomeowners.org to get other pertinent information. NEWS
ABOUT OUR FRONT ENTRANCE
Your Association has been working to obtain monies in the form of a grant from
the County. All the area outside the front entrance is county property, but we
cannot rely on their maintaining it to a high standard. Landscaping, tree and
bush trimming, lighting, and maintaining our entrance and sign are part of what
your Association does. Members have contributed almost $600 for improved
lighting. Volunteers have trimmed, planted, mulched, worked on sprinklers, and
picked up trash. Ron Cinnamon is head of this ongoing work. Tammy Doyle has
worked very hard to get our grant application processed and the paperwork
documented. We hope to soon be approved for almost $5000 by the County for
improving this area. THINKING
OF A NEW FENCE OR ROOM ADDITION?
Be sure to read your Deed Restrictions before starting your projects. You can
go online to
www.lakesidehomeowners.org call Karen Lucas 393-2240 for a copy. Your
Association encourages discussion before you start your projects. ANIMAL CONTROL
If you have issues regarding animals in the neighborhood, please contact the
Pinellas County Animal Services at 582-2600. Reports have been made regarding
loose dogs. For the sake of your pet, do not let them run loose to endanger
themselves or others. We encourage dog walking, carry your bags, and be
considerate! RECENT
RASH OF BURGLARIES REPORTED!
Even though we live in a great area, we must still be watchful of suspicious
activity. Side garage doors, pool bath doors and sliding doors can be
areas targeted by burglars for entrance into your home! Burglar signs in visible
places are very helpful. Neighborhood Alert number to call is 391-2065. If you
see a crime in progress, call the Sheriff’s Office immediately at 582-6200. Annual
Dues are only $50.00 plus $25.00 for lawn maintenance. Call Jan Adams today at
319-4884.
